Within this 85 minute theatrical comedy and having written down everything her loving and outspoken grandmother ever uttered, Candice Guardino slips in and out of her family impersonations as she cooks up a full meal of growing up NY Style. Italian Bred also features virtual cameos from Vic DiBitetto, Steve Schirripa (Sopranos), Mario Cantone (Sex and The City) and more!  This Hit Theatrical Comedy is fresh off Sold-Out in NJ, LA, NY, FL and Chicago. A show for the whole family that is not to be missed!

About Candice Guardino

“NYC’s rising funny girl,” writer, actress and storyteller Candice Guardino, is quickly making a name for herself in the entertainment industry with her creative brand of comedy and family humor that’s captivating audiences, through impersonating multi-dimensional characters she has created as well as her phenomenal singing voice. Candice was born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in an Italian family that always spoke at full volume. She grew up singing, dancing, and performing weekly recitals for her family in the living room. As a child, Candice knew she either wanted to perform for a living, or marry John Stamos. After realizing “Full House” had been cancelled (and she got tired of watching the re-runs), she later enrolled into the Musical Theatre & Dance Department of Wagner College in Staten Island. After graduating with a BA in Musical Theatre, Candice moved to NYC to pursue her dream of working in “show biz.” Throughout her career of performing and originating roles on stage in the heart of Broadway, Candice has written screenplays, dramas, sketch comedies, and sitcoms.

The Simrit Experience

Some artists can bring true commitment to age-old meditations, urging everyone from pop stars to theater audiences to fall in love with the words of ancient sages. Some artists have a presence that both engages and soothes, an ear that can hear the resonances that bridge continents and souls.

Vocalist and songwriter Simrit, born in Athens, Greece, adopted and raised in the American South, is one of these artists. Her music and artistry, which have attracted fans such as Steven Tyler of Aerosmith and Belinda Carlisle of the Go-Go’s, is known for it’s depth, haunting beauty, edge, and psychedelic atmosphere.

Drawing on the harmonic beauty and melodic sensibilities of the ancient Byzantine, Greek Orthodox chants she grew up with, adding the pulse of the West African drum traditions she studied, and fused with her training in piano and vocals from different traditions, Simrit and her band tease out distinct facets of mystical poetry and the intimate ardors of the spirit.  Over the last several years they have created waves with packed theaters and concert halls, chart-topping albums, and raving fans that have powered a palpable musical movement.

Simrit’s unique sound and artistic contributions have led, inspired and pushed the boundaries of world and chant music into new places, throwing off old conventions.  She mixes distilled philosophical statements with ethereal and hooky arrangements, turns 16th-century Gurmukhi poetry into hypnotically grooving songs, develops anthemic melodies and feels, and creates epic soundscapes threaded with mantras. She brings the depth of the sacred and ancient to the modern.

It won’t take very long after the music begins for you to realize that this isn’t your average concert. From the transcendent sounds, the hypnotic groove, world-class musicians, and Simrit’s mesmerizing VOICE…Get ready for lift off!

Bob Dylan once called this man a “Folk Italian Hero” and it wouldn’t be an understatement to say, that’s about the highest praise Francesco De Gregori could receive. Many years into his career now, Francesco is still managing to live up to the praise, taking his timeless folk songs to bigger crowds than ever, all over the world.

Even for non-Italian speaking audiences there is still something deeply moving about Francesco’s music. It has a worldly European nostalgia about it which he displays as he takes crowds through up-tempo rockers and wistful ballads often leading at front-of-stage with his acoustic guitar and harmonica. The most surprising thing is how cool the man manages to look. Sporting his trademark trilby hat and a dapper suit, Francesco carries himself with a class and sophistication that helps to make his music all the more powerful.

Its no surprise that the man known as “Il Principe dei cantautori” (‘The Prince of the singer-songwriters’) is still going today because music as timeless as Francesco De Gregori’s will always find a stage to be played on.

STARDUST SHOWS ENTERTAINMENTS PRESENTS…

Since half a century Adriano Celentano is the most loved artist in the Italian showbiz. Whatever he did, he always amazed, innovated and leaved a sign. His countless hits beat the time of three generations.

Maurizio Schweizer’s natural likeness, both physical and vocal, is the spark lighting the Celentano Tribute Show, a concert including a lot of the most beautiful songs from Molleggiato’s repertoire, performed totally live by the eleven elements band with original arrangements.

During his life, Maurizio a thousand of times has been told “Do you know you look like…”, “Do you know you sing like…” So, when at last he decided to plan a tribute to the Celentano, he did it paying attention to everything: accurate musical and vocal repertoire learning, 11 pieces band, professional stage costumes (5 look changes during the show), original vintage accessories, correct style scenery, sketches replicated from concerts, TV shows and films from Adriano. All this not in order to grossly mock or simply clone, but in order to amuse, to excite, to dream, to CELENTANIZE with the audience.

On stage, Maurizio is supported by a huge band including three female backing vocals, a powerful rhythm section and a sparkling the brass section.
Beside collecting successes in all Italy’s regions, the Celentano Tribute Show crossed the national borders: Russia, USA, Germany, Ukraine, Latvia, Austria, Turkey, France, Spain, Belarus, Israel, Australia, Cyprus, Kazakhstan, Slovakia, Monaco, Switzerland, Moldova, Azerbaijan, Oman…

Escape the doldrums of Winter and celebrate at Arlington’s Showplace of Entertainment because there isn’t another band in the world that can pull off a cover of Bohemian Rhapsody like the Ultrasonic Rock Orchestra! Celebrate the music of…

The Ultrasonic Rock Orchestra IS “The Future of Classic Rock”

The URO is 15 stellar musicians—with huge range and a massive repertoire, every show is surprising and unique. 10 vocalists bring the crown jewels of classic rock to vivid life, delivering gripping, unforgettable performances that bring people back again and again.

The URO is an orchestra—Much in the way that the works of Mozart, Beethoven, and Bach, live on at the symphony, URO celebrates the music of rock’s iconic artists: The Beatles, Queen, David Bowie, Led Zeppelin, The Who and MORE.

The URO is a giant rock band—Celebrating their 15th anniversary year with mind-boggling performances of “The White Album,” “Abbey Road,” “Jesus Christ Superstar,” “Quadrophenia,” “Woodstock” and more, even debuting their own original rock opera later this year.

The URO is “Guaranteed To Blow Your Mind!”—From the first note to the last encore, a bigger-than-life, high-energy homage to bands that audiences can never see, but who’s music remains a vital part of their lives.

Young or old, divorced or married…if you’ve ever been single (and that’s everyone) and want to experience (again) the feeling of finding that special person to spend the rest of your life with, then you’ll want to fasten your seat belt for 75 minutes of non-stop laughs with Peter Fogel’s ‘TIL DEATH DO US PART…YOU FIRST!

Miami Art Zine says ”... A hilarious cross between “Men Are From Mars/Women Are From Venus and “Defending the Caveman!”

The NY Post says… “the single’s man, single man… who tells such hilarious stories about being single in the city… one wants to go out and find him a suitable mate!”

The Palm Beach Arts Post... “Fogel’s ingratiating delivery and inclusive approach to the subject, plus some genuinely funny observations, make ’Til Death an entertaining evening out!”

“A hysterical look at the complexity of relationships, love, & marriage - proving you can find your soulmate at any age.” Dr. Diana Kirchner, Best Selling Author of “Love in 90 Days”BS Morning Show, Good Morning America

About Magic & Beyond…

David’s Magic & Beyond show has recently been seen at the Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City, NJ; Center for Performing Arts at Rhinebeck, NY; and on an international tour of exclusive, all-inclusive resorts along the Riviera Maya in Mexico.

Highlights from the Magic & Beyond performance may include hilarious stunts of apparent mind-reading, an incredible illusion where a table mysteriously floats around the stage and out into the audience, “dangerous” stunts, a beautiful and artistic illusion involving ordinary Hula Hoops that perform extraordinary magic and a hilarious Houdini-style “Escape Challenge.”

Illusionist David Garrity uses visual magic and illusions combined with music, pantomime, situation comedy and audience participation to entertain audiences of all ages and backgrounds.

“Rolling Stone: Life and Death of Brian Jones” is the first documentary to be produced about the founder and original leader of The Rolling Stones.

In the mid ‘60s, Brian Jones emerged as ‘the face’ and poster boy of the Bohemian Swingin’ London scene, topping the charts with The Rolling Stones and dating model/actress Anita Pallenberg.

However, his excessive lifestyle and his reputation as “the original bad boy of Rock & Roll” was to cost him dearly. As the scene descended into the acid ridden year of 1967 so did Brian. Targeted by the authorities and media, he spiraled out of control losing both Anita and the respect of the Stones. Two years later, Brian was found at the bottom of his swimming pool, the verdict: death by misadventure.

During the last 50 years many theories have emerged, claiming that Brian was murdered and that it was covered up at high level, as this film discovers- the evidence for this is extremely compelling.

Directed by Danny Garcia (“The Rise and Fall of The Clash”/“Looking for Johnny/“Sad Vacation/STIV”

Belmont World Film‘s 17th Annual Family Festival, “Where Stories Come Alive,” offers nearly four full days of some of the world’s best films for children and adults, animation workshops and talks with Cinzia Angelini, head story artist on the recently released Abominable (not to mention story artist on The Minions Movie, Despicable Me 3, Spider-Man 2, and more), and The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show Storytime, a live audience participation story time with large puppets featuring two of Eric Carle’s most famous books. Films are screened in English or their native language with subtitles, which will be read aloud through headphones for young readers, and many are being screened in the US for the first time. It might even be your only time to see them in New England.

Each day revolves around a different theme: Saturday is devoted to the animal kingdom, Sunday to short films, and Monday to making peace and friends. Many films are based on international children’s literature and include stories about a young computer hacker, talking dogs, a yeti, an accident-prone dragon, an adventurous snail and whale, an exotic unexplored planet, and more!

*Note that the Regent Theatre is hosting the Festival on Friday night and Sunday Only*

Tickets Available Only Through Belmont World Film:

Dame Diana Rigg, Oscar winner Sally Hawkins, and comedian Rob Brydon are the voices behind the colorful The Snail and the Whale, the tale of a tiny snail who, longing to see the world, hitches a ride on the tail of a giant humpback whale. Together they go on an amazing journey under the sea, past icebergs and volcanoes, and with sharks, penguins, and all manner of undersea animals. The little snail feels so small in the vastness of the world until the whale ends up beached in a bay.

Featuring the voices of Game of Thrones’ Kit Harrington, Fleabag’s Hugh Skinner, and comedian Tracey Ullman, Zog tells the story of a keen but accident-prone dragon who learns how to fly, roar, breathe fire, and save a princess during his first year at Dragon School.

Magic For Smart People will make you believe in the impossible again while making you smile and laugh. Bob Filene hasn’t always worked as a magician. About ten years ago he had only a rough knowledge of magic tricks gleaned from his teenage years. Then one day a performer in an airport rekindled his interest, leading him to explore the wider magical community. He soon discovered Ray Goulet’s Magic Art Studio in Watertown, which put him into contact with the American Society of Magicians and the International Brotherhood of Magicians. As a member in those organizations, Bob has flourished, becoming the magic guy he is today.

ABOUT THE MOVIE…

Every holiday season, countless millions from all over the world gather around television screens to watch their favorite Christmas movies. It’s a Wonderful Life, A Christmas Carol (in all its many versions), A Christmas Story, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, A Charlie Brown Christmas, and of course, The Polar Express, are all universally beloved holiday movies.

But no list of classic Christmas movies could ever be complete without including 1954’s White Christmas starring Bing Crosby.

White Christmas was a Paramount picture and was the first-ever movie filmed in the then-breakthrough wide screen wonder VistaVision.

White Christmas was released on October 14, 1954. It premiered at New York’s Radio City Music Hall. Variety gave the film a thumbs up, saying: White Christmas should be a natural hit at the box office… ...Crosby and Kaye keep the entertainment going… ...clicking so well the team should call for a repeat…. White Christmas proved a financial bonanza, earning over $12 million dollars at the box office (a Star Wars-like amount in 1954). In fact, White Christmas was the biggest movie hit of the year.

See it now on the big screen accompanied by the Regent Theatre’s concert sound system!

Have you ever been to a film musical and had the uncontrollable urge to burst into song? Do you muse over the endless tailoring opportunities for chintz curtains? Have you always wondered what it would be like to wear a wimple, a military uniform or lederhosen?
Just sit back and watch the original 1965 movie in glorious Technicolor ™ with the lyrics for all the songs on the screen, so you won’t miss a chance to sing your hearts out. The audience takes over as the star of the show from this point and almost anything can happen – the first rule of Sing-a-long-a is THERE ARE NO RULES!

Sing-A-Long Sound of Music is your chance to test your vocal range with several hundred other assorted nuns, Von Trapp family members and Julie Andrews look-a-likes.

The evening begins with a live on-stage show in which your host will lead you through a vocal warm-up, judge the fancy dress competition and award prizes. Costumes are not compulsory but they are highly recommended and you will be amazed at the inventiveness on display. The host will then show you how to use your free goody bag throughout the film and suggest some appropriate heckles and accompanying actions (such as hissing at the countess, barking at Rolf and, of course, cheering for Julie.)

Regent WHOFest Feat. 40th Anniv. Screening of “The Kids Are Alright”

With Special LIVE Performance by AMERICAN WHO!

Friday, November 22nd at 8pm (Doors at 7:15)

Bookmark and Share

Exclusive 40th Anniversary Screening Event featuring Jeff Stein’s pioneering rock music documentary which combines promotional footage, television appearances, and fan-shot footage of rock legends The Who—on tour, in the studio and in their daily lives from 1964 until just before drummer Keith Moon’s death in September 1978. The film includes historic performances at Woodstock, guitar smashing on “The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour,” and career-spanning hits from “My Generation” to “Pinball Wizard” to “Won’t Get Fooled Again.”

Before the film, Boston’s AMERICAN WHO will perform a special live set of music from the film! 45 Minutes of Maximum R&B. Unlike many tributes, the American WHO doesn’t go for recreating the entire studio sound, but to ROCK IT like the WHO did when playing LIVE back in its heyday… with the Thunder, Lightning and Vocals that made them the greatest live act ever…

Asner carries the show solo, but a series of pictures from a hospital add visual elements to the production as the play progresses. It is a thoroughly enjoyable piece of theater with a nice balance of both comedic and more serious elements. Asner is a master of comedy, and charms with his personality and distinct voice. While it is of serious health issue, A Man and His Prostate is highly entertaining while serving as a public service announcement for men to get prostate screening and check-ups.

Special Guest: Kate Russo’s PIECE OF MY PEARL Janis Joplin Tribute

Through The Doors is a multimedia celebration of Jim Morrison and The Doors touring since 1980. This re-creation of the sound, look and “feel” of an actual Doors concert is so complete, it never ceases to startle even the seasoned crew. And it starts right away: In the darkened theater, well before the band has taken the stage, anticipation runs hot and the chanting for “Jim” begins. Perhaps it is the audiences’ overwhelming desire to experience a true “Resurrection” that fuels the flames. Or, attribute it if you must, to a legend that survives, even grows, some 40 years after the mysterious death of James Douglas Morrison and the dissolution of his band.
Even now The Doors’ albums continue to sell and Jim’s face still appears on the covers of magazines, film, television and radio. They serve up the “Lizard King” on a daily basis, and still the masses pay homage in droves that surpass even the dizzying heights of the band’s popularity when still “alive”. And yet, a Through The Doors performance goes far beyond the simple duplication of a concert that would have been standard late 1960’s fare.

This performance is more akin to a Broadway show or Vegas Extravaganza – seasoned professional actor/musicians utilizing sound, staging, lighting, and projection equipment that audiences have come to expect. The effect is electrifying and the response has been phenomenal, as their longevity alone can testify to.  So, sit back in your seat (for as long as you can), and get ready to travel through the doors of perception, traverse space and time on a psychedelic, mind expanding dance-trance!  Ladies and Gentlemen: Through The Doors!

Executive produced by Terrence Malick, Everybody’s Everything is an intimate, humanistic portrait that seeks to understand an artist who attempted to be all things to all people. Creating a unique mix of punk, emo and rap, Lil Peep was set to bring a new musical genre to the mainstream when he died of a drug overdose at just 21 years old. Everybody’s Everything  is a co-production of First Access Entertainment and Liza Womack, Peep’s mother. The film is produced by Benjamin Soley, with Terrence Malick, Miss Womack and Sarah Stennett serving as executive producers.

The URO is a giant rock band—Celebrating their 15th anniversary year with mind-boggling performances of “The White Album,” “Abbey Road,” “Jesus Christ Superstar,” “Quadrophenia,” “Woodstock” and more, and NOW the debut of its own original rock opera, “Come Together.”

The URO is “Guaranteed To Blow Your Mind!”—From the first note to the last encore, a bigger-than-life, high-energy homage to bands that audiences can never see, but who’s music remains a vital part of their lives.

“Hundreds of punks hit the desert. The modern music festival was born” The New York Times

Desolation Centeris the previously untold story of a series of early 80s guerrilla music and art performance happenings in Southern California that are recognized to have paved the way for Burning Man, Lollapalooza and Coachella, collective experiences that have become key elements of popular culture in the 21st century. The feature documentary splices interviews and rare performance footage of Sonic Youth, Minutemen, Meat Puppets, Swans, Redd Kross, Einstürzende Neubauten, Survival Research Laboratories, Savage Republic and more, documenting a time when pushing the boundaries of music, art, and performance felt almost like an unspoken obligation.

Directed by Stuart Swezey, the creator and principal organizer of these unique events, Desolation Center demonstrates how the risky, and at times even reckless, actions of a few outsiders can unintentionally lead to seismic cultural shifts. Combining Swezey’s exclusive access to never-before-seen archival video, live audio recordings, and stills woven together with new cinematically shot interviews, verité footage and animated sequences, Desolation Center captures the spirit of the turbulent times from which these events emerged.

Join us at The Regent Theatre for the revival of a motion picture classic. Although you may not need on-screen prompting to sing along, the re-release is done in a special Sing-A-Long version to make the experience more interactive. To make the experience even cooler, the surviving Pythons—Terry Jones, Terry Gilliam (both of whom directed the film), John Cleese, Michael Palin, and Eric Idle—have recorded a special introduction for the screenings, and attendees are encouraged to dress-up for the event, though you’ll need to check your shrubbery at the door.

From its opening multi-language titles (that sure looks like Swedish) to the closing arrest of the entire Dark Ages cast by modern-day bobbies, Monty Python and the Holy Grail helped to define “irreverence” and became an instant cult classic. This time the Pythonites savage the legend of King Arthur, juxtaposing some excellently selected exterior locations with an unending stream of anachronistic one-liners, non sequiturs, and slapstick set pieces. The Knights of the Round Table set off in search of the Holy Grail on foot, as their lackeys make clippety-clop sounds with coconut shells. A plague-ridden community, ringing with the cry of “bring out your dead,” offers its hale and hearty citizens to the body piles. A wedding of convenience is attacked by Arthur’s minions while the pasty-faced groom continually attempts to burst into song. The good guys are nearly thwarted by the dreaded, tree-shaped “Knights Who Say Ni!” A feisty enemy warrior, bloodily shorn of his arms and legs in the thick of battle, threatens to bite off his opponent’s kneecap. A French military officer shouts such taunts as “I fart in your general direction” and “I wave my private parts at your aunties.” Rabbits are a particular obsession of the writers this time around, ranging from the huge Trojan Rabbit to the “killer bunny” that decapitates one of the knights. Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, and Michael Palin collaborated on the script and assumed most of the onscreen roles, while Gilliam and Jones served as co-directors.

The Manhattan Shorts Press Release

MANHATTAN SHORT today announces the Final Ten selections for its 22nd Annual Short Film Festival, a worldwide event taking place in over 400 venues across six continents between September 26th and October 6, 2019. MANHATTAN SHORT is the only event of its kind. The Final Ten are screened simultaneously across the world during a one-week period, with the Best Film and Best Actor awards determined by ballots cast by the audiences in each participating venue. By virtue of their selection by MANHATTAN SHORT, each short film is automatically Oscar-qualified.

The Final Ten MANHATTAN SHORT finalists hail from seven countries with films from France, Iran, Canada, Germany, and Finland alongside two films from USA and a record three from the United Kingdom. These Final ten films represent the best short films among 1250 submissions from 70 countries received by MANHATTAN SHORT for 2019, testimony to the enduring vibrancy and creativity of short films worldwide.

MANHATTAN SHORT continues to be a premier showcase for female directors with five of the Final Ten films directed by woman, including ine from Iran. This year’s Final Ten represent an extraordinary range of film genres that includes intimate dramas, spine-tingling suspense, and hilarious comedies, as well as genre surprises like a pair of science fiction films and one that focuses on tennis. “A narrative short film on sports is as rare as a centaur sighting,” notes Pia Andell, director of the The Match.

This year’s Final Nine represent an extraordinary range of film genres that includes intimate dramas; fast-paced animation; spine-tingling tales; a World War II epic; a film shot entirely underwater and a comedy as part of the MANHATTAN SHORT program. View the Trailer.

The MANHATTAN SHORT Final Ten are:
Nefta Football Club (France), Debris (USA), Driving Lessons (Iran),Tipped (Canada) Sylvia (United Kingdom), The Match (Finland), This Time Away (UK), Malou (Germany), A Family Affair (UK), At The End of the World (USA)

All Final Ten short films will become Oscar-Qualified, meaning they will become automatically eligible for an Academy Award nomination, by screening for a week at Los Feliz 3 Cinemas in the county of Los Angeles Sept 20-Sept 26

CineLife Entertainment® has partnered with CBS to be the exclusive North American theatrical distributor of the digitally remastered Peanuts® classic, Snoopy, Come Home. This is the first time this film will be presented in the theatre since its release in 1972.

In this follow up to 1969’s A Boy Named Charlie Brown, the scholarly Snoopy finds himself dragged between two owners and challenged to remain true to himself. When Charlie Brown’s beloved dog Snoopy receives a letter from his original owner Lila, who is in hospital, his heartstrings are torn. Along with his bird pal Woodstock, Snoopy decides to venture out and visit ailing Lila, making his way across the country. But when Lila gets better and asks Snoopy to live with her, the poor beagle faces a dilemma of loyalty, where he must choose between Charlie and Lila.

This is a FREE Screening Event for All!

[Running Time: Approx. 45 minutes]

Doors will open for seating at 12:30pm…

Laugh Now is a story of strength, willpower, and determination in the pursuit of liberty during the Holocaust, as told from the perspective of Theofanis Orfanos, a Greek native who was captured by Nazi Germany forces at 15 years-old.

Theofanis’ childhood was disrupted by a Fascist Italy and Nazi Germany invasion of Greece in 1940, which left Greek citizens with no choice but to fight back. Theofanis joined his country in resistance, but at age 15, he was captured by Nazi forces. For 18 months, Theofanis was subjected to spirit-crushing conditions in a forced labor camp in Geislingen an der steige, Germany until he was able to make a daring escape. He returned to Greece to find that the people he fought with a year earlier had turned against each other, resulting in civil war that fractured the country. After 10 years, Theofanis moved to America, where he now lives with his wife and children. He is willing to share his story of hope and determination in the face of oppression for all those willing to listen.

Produced & Directed by Emilio Guido
Emilio Guido fell in love with movies as a distraction from life that grew into his focus as a student at Northeastern University where he has written, directed and produced two short films: Echoes of What Used to Be and Catch Your Breath. He met Theofanis nearly a year ago and after learning about his harrowing journey and the dwindling number of Holocaust survivors, Emilio knew he needed to help share Theofanis’ story with the world.

...Wednesday September 25th 7:30PM and 9:30PM

Produced by the Emmy award-winning Banger Films, ZZ TOP: THAT LITTLE OL’ BAND FROM TEXAS tells the story of how three oddball teenage bluesmen - Billy Gibbons, Dusty Hill, and Frank Beard – became one of the biggest, most beloved bands on the planet, all while maintaining a surrealist mystique that continues to intrigue fans and entice onlookers 50 years after the band’s inception.

Buoyed by candid band interviews, never-before-seen archive, animation, celebrity fan testimonials (Billy Bob Thornton, Joshua Homme and more), and an intimate performance at the legendary Gruene Hall shot exclusively for this documentary, That Little Ol’ Band runs the gamut, from the absurd to the poignant, from squalid Texas bars to MTV heroics, all in celebration of this notoriously private, but larger than life, power trio. In the end, ZZ TOP: THAT LITTLE OL’ BAND FROM TEXAS unravels the extraordinary tale of a band whose image we know, but whose story we don’t.

Spend an evening with America’s premiere Robin Williams tribute artist and be part of the filming of “Being Robin.”

You may feel you are in the presence of one of the funniest and most beloved comedians in history. Robin was not only a wonderful actor and comic genius, but a philosopher and humanitarian. The show is funny, poignant, and sometimes just a wild ride through the mind of a lovable madman. Robin seemed to always be teetering on the edge of childlike innocence even when he was being naughty.

If you’ve never had the chance to see Robin in concert, now is the time!Plus… Be in the Movie!

The show you will see is being filmed for the upcoming motion picture entitled Being Robin. The movie is about an artist who thinks he may be channeling the spirit of Robin Williams. While he wrestles with his sanity, he creates a live tribute to Robin, which becomes a national sensation, and a healing moment in our culture. Being Robin is currently in pre-production. Roger Kabler who performs this tribute also stars in the movie.

The URO is an orchestra — much in the way that the works of Mozart, Beethoven, and Bach, live on at the symphony, URO celebrates the music of rock’s iconic artists: The Beatles, Queen, David Bowie, Led Zeppelin, The Who and MORE.

The URO is a giant rock band — celebrating their 15th-Anniversary year with mind-boggling performances of The White Album, Abbey Road, Jesus Christ Superstar, Quadrophenia, Woodstock and more, even debuting their own original rock opera later this year.

The URO is “Guaranteed To Blow Your Mind!” — from the first note to the last encore, a bigger-than-life, high-energy homage to bands that audiences can never see, but who’s music remains a vital part of their lives.

CineLife Entertainment® has partnered with CBS to be the exclusive North American theatrical distributor of the digitally remastered Peanuts® classic, A Boy Named Charlie Brown. This is the 50th Anniversary of this animated feature film and first time it will be presented in the theatre since its release in 1969.

In this first animated feature film based on Charles M. Schulz’s ever-popular Peanuts® comic strip, we see the pint-sized hero step-up to the challenge, face his fears and show the world what he is truly made of. When Charlie Brown enters the school spelling bee, the doubtful and openly honest Lucy predicts his abject humiliation. With the help of his best friend (Linus) and loyal dog (Snoopy,) Charlie Brown sets out to surprise his detractors in order to attend the national spelling bee in New York City.

What They Said About Love was funny, poignant, thoughtful, and revealing about the search for love. It was an amazing performance. —TalkinBroadway.com.

Actor and writer Steve Budd wonders why other people can and he can’t — tie the knot, that is. So he asked couples about the push and pull of love — what keeps them from pulling apart despite annoying the heck out of each other. Meet a New Age couple that swears they met before they met, a pair of Metal Heads who thought it would be a hoot to get married on 6-6-06 and more. Satisfy your voyeuristic tendencies about how others look for love — and, in some cases, find it. This is documentary theater at its best, a la Anna Deavere Smith. Steve Budd brings twelve (12) characters to life, using their words from hours of interviews, and weaves in the story of his own search for a life partner.

“NRBQ brings joy when we could really use some.” —Elmore Magazine

NRBQ is Terry Adams, Scott Ligon, Casey McDonough, and John Perrin. “NRBQ” stands for New Rhythm and Blues Quartet. The band’s music, a rollicking blend of everything from stomping rockabilly to Beatles-influenced pop to Thelonious Monk-inspired jazz, has attracted fans as diverse as Elvis Costello, Penn & Teller, R.E.M., SpongeBob SquarePants, Ian McLagan, She & Him, Wilco, Widespread Panic, Nick Lowe, and indie-rock band Whitney. NRBQ songs have inspired cover versions by Bonnie Raitt, Los Lobos, Darlene Love, and Dave Edmunds, among many others. In addition, the group served as the unofficial “house band” for The Simpsons for the Season 10-12.  NRBQ has released a series of critically-acclaimed albums in recent years, among them Keep This Love Goin’ (2011), Brass Tacks (2014), and last year’s 5-disc, 50-year retrospective, High Noon which landed on Top Picks lists in Rolling Stone, the New York Times, Goldmine, and more. Of the brand new Happy Talk EP, the Nashville Scene says, “...ties the pursuit of eternal youth to the idea of timeless rock ‘n’ roll.” As the song says, “You’ve got to have a dream, if you don’t have a dream, how you gonna make a dream come true?

LIVE PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE

1:00pm:
Odaiko New England (ONE)—formed in 1994 is one of the premier Taiko groups on the East Coast. By combining Japanese aesthetic sensibility with the American spirit, ONE has forged its own distinctive style and voice. In Japan the sounds of Taiko are infused into various aspects of daily life. From Shinto and Buddhist rituals to celebratory festivals, Taiko is said to be the voice and spirit of the Japanese. Its rhythms reflect the sounds of nature, the changing of the seasons, a mother’s heartbeat. The sound of Taiko is palpable and its language is universal. It speaks across boundaries of race, class, culture, and religion, and appeals to people of all ages and gender.

1:30pm:
Zhen Ren Chuan—is a martial and healing arts system that offers a complete education in the study of the human mind and body. It encompasses correct and well balanced exercises, movements and forms that date back hundreds and thousands of years. The core of Zhen Ren Chuan’s movement and philosophy comes from the Five Element Theory as it pertains to the study of of Baguazhang, Chinese Shaolin/White Crane Gong Fu (Kung Fu), Taiji (Tai Chi) and Qi Gong (Chi Kung).

2:00pm:
Vance Gilbert—The longtime Arlington resident burst onto the singer/songwriter scene in the early ‘90s when buzz started spreading in the folk clubs of Boston about an ex-multicultural arts teacher who was knocking ‘em dead at open mics. Born and raised in the Philadelphia area, Vance started out hoping to be a jazz singer, and then discovered his affinity for the storytelling sensibilities of acoustic folk music. Once word got out about Gilbert’s stage-owning singing and playing, Shawn Colvin invited him to be special guest on her Fat City tour. Noted not only for being the ever consummate performer, Gilbert has recorded 13 albums, including 5 for Philo/Rounder Records. Along with his own touring schedule, he has been opener of choice for artists as varied as George Carlin, Aretha Franklin, Arlo Guthrie, the Milk Carton Kids, Anita Baker, Paul Reiser, and the Subdudes. Currently Vance is but inches away from releasing his latest entitled Good, Good, Man - an eclectic assemblage of tunes with guests ranging from Celtic harpist Aine Minough to rock star Mike Posner to bluesman Chris Smither. An integral part of the national folk scene, Gilbert’s approach to the acoustic singer songwriter idiom is significant. Gilbert’s compositions, while frequently employing sophisticated melodies and harmonies that attest to his jazz roots, remain sublime attestations to the storyteller’s craft. He even has a tune on a Grammy Nominated children’s album. How rounded is that?

3:00pm:
Deborah Henson-Conant—a longtime Arlingtonian, is a GRAMMY®-Nominated singer and electric harpist. She’s known for her on-stage image, her humor, passion and innovation, wearing the electric body-harp she invented. She uses a looper pedal to layer melodies and guitar effects on her harp - and plays solo or in collaboration with symphonies and chamber ensembles - always mixing music, story & movement. This is a feel-good, outside-the-box, bring-the-folks-you-love kind of show for audiences of all genders and ages- folks who want to celebrate what it means to passionately follow your own creative path. See her TEDx talk at TEDxDHC.com.

4:00pm:
The Band That Time Forgot—began in 1985 and maintain the same members to this day: Peter “Head West” Hoffman on Guitar, Arlington’s Larry Sonny California” Luddecke on keyboards, Richard “Rainbow” Gates on bass and Tim “Stash” Jackson on drums.  They won an instant “Best of Boston” Award for their impeccably played renditions of lesser known songs from the late 1960’s. The four have worked together in other various bands through the years and individually with the likes of John Hammond, Robin Lane and the Chartbusters, Willy Nile, Suzanne Vega, Dennis Brennen, LaVern Baker,  Ellis Paul, Tom Rush, Vance Gilbert, Vas Deferens, and many more. Their many years together has only increased the fun they have playing the quirky musical chestnuts that make up their substantial playlist. The 1990s, alt rock band, Luxury is skyrocketing toward national fame, until a life-threatening tour bus wreck shakes each band member to his core. Today, Luxury is led by three orthodox priests, and they’re still rocking.

“Parallel Love: The Story of a Band Called Luxury” follows the path of Luxury, a band who, on the cusp of success suffered a devastating wreck. In the intervening years, they continue to make records and three members of the band become Eastern Orthodox priests. Through interviews and archival footage, Parallel Love tells the gripping and poignant story of Luxury and documents the making of a new record, now as priests.

THE BAND - LUXURY

Luxury is a band that began in the 1990’s in the small town of Toccoa, GA, but from the start, it was clear that their aspirations and influences were elsewhere.

Sounding like Fugazi or Shudder to Think fronted by a younger, more vicious Morrissey, they were an anomaly, in Toccoa, or almost anywhere. They brought together such disparate influences that one could barely imagine them co-existing in a band, much less pulling it off as a thoroughly distinctive sound.

The English melodicism laid on top of such pummeling instrumentation was a study in contrasts, but it was of a piece, as there was enough of the melodic in the instruments and enough brutality in the lyrics and vocal delivery that it hung together, just so. As singer, Lee Bozeman describes it,

“I write these beautiful, nice songs, and then the band destroys them.”

Upon the release of their first record, Amazing and Thank You (1995), Luxury seemed poised to move to another level, but a wreck in the summer of 1995 (with tour-mates and fellow Georgians, Piltdown Man) had the opposite impact. All told, there were 3 broken necks between both bands, with Bozeman sustaining the most devastating internal injuries.

The wreck changed their fortunes as well (evidently) as their ambitions. With each successive record, there was a greater sense of self-reflection in Bozeman’s lyrics, and the music followed that deepening maturity, all the while maintaining the fundamental dichotomy of soaring melodies on top of angular post-punk instrumentation.

The first record was essentially a document of their live shows, which were remarkable events in their intensity and the band’s posture of defiance directed even at their own audience. On successive records though, Luxury learned to use the studio as an instrument. While, on the first record Bozeman asks “So, what do you expect from life?” he seems to have spent each of the following records seeking to answer that very question.

“To see what it was that made Rudolf Nureyev onstage such a furious and transporting poet-of-the-body, is to be at once moved and awed.”

  - Owen Gleiberman, Variety

This striking documentary from BAFTA nominated directors, Jacqui Morris and David Morris, traces the extraordinary life of Rudolf Nureyev, the most famous male dancer that transcended fame in the dance world to become a pop culture icon of his time. It charts his rise from humble beginnings, to his eventual defection to the West, an event that shocked the world. The film features never-before-seen footage and contextualizes not just the man,but also the times in which he lived, discussing the politically charged divide between Russia and the West and the critical role that Nureyev played as a cultural and global phenomenon.

A quarter of a century after Nureyev’s death, his story has never been more relevant: his defection to the West is symbolic as Russia and the West struggle once more to reconcile conflicting values; as we obsess over celebrity, Nureyev’s status as a global icon in an age before social media is doubly significant; as the Russian government’s attitude towards homosexuality is seen as medieval in its archaism, Nureyev’s unapologetic openness about his sexuality over half a century ago can be seen for the act of trailblazing bravery it truly was; and finally, having left a legacy in the dance world stemming from Mikhail Baryshnikov to the current era of Marcelo Gomes, Carlos Acosta and Sergei Polunin, it is telling that Nureyev is still widely considered the finest male ballet dancer ever to grace the stage.

The dynamic Tony Wilson and his talented friends present a very special evening of music & dance highlighting one of our era’s iconic entertainers on the 10th Anniversary of his sudden passing in 2009. You’ll hear the sensational music from the “Bad” and “Thriller” Tours enveloped by an electrifying light show and video presentation.

In the early 1980’s, Tony Wilson (aka “Young James Brown”) began his entertainment career as a Michael Jackson impersonator, and was so good at his job, that he was approached to be a body double for Michael Jackson during his VICTORY tour. Tony eventually appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show and was crowned the Best Michael Jackson Impersonator

“He (Michael Jackson) would use me for the decoy work,” Wilson said. “I would have on the dark sunglasses and a glove in the limo, and the crowd would come my way…so he’d be able to get-in and get-out!”

Wilson said he still has one of the microphones that Jackson used on his Victory tour.

“What a pleasure it was to meet and work with Michael; the bonus was that I also got to befriend Joe Jackson, who, along with my Godmother Martha Reeves, greatly helped me in my career,” added Wilson.

Michael Jackson will forever be known as “The King of Pop.”  His music is beloved worldwide and his dance moves have awed audiences since the moment he stepped onto the stage.  He has won multiple Grammy Awards and created Humanitarian Foundations of giving.  “We are the World” and “Heal the World” provided millions of funds to people in need throughout the globe.

On June 25th, Tony Wilson—a personal friend of Michael Jackson who also studied under him—will be performing music from Jackson’s “Bad” and “Thriller” tours.  The two originally met after Tony was asked to be on the Oprah Show and was distinguished by Oprah as the Best Michael Jackson Tribute Artist.  Promoter Don King and Joe Jackson, Michael’s father, saw Tony perform and asked him to be Michael Jackson’s body double.  Tony accepted and became close friends with Michael Jackson and his family.  In fact, Michael gave Tony one of his iconic crystal white gloves, hat, pants, belt, shirt and shoes—all of which will be on display for the audience at The Regent Theatre event.  In addition to songs from Jackson’s instantly recognizable repertoire, Wilson will sing the song he personally wrote and performed for Michael entitled, “We Call Him Peter Pan.”

After Jackson’s untimely death, his family put together a tribute CD and portrait for which close friends and artists collaborated, including Diana Ross, Adam Lambert, Dionne Warwick, Jermaine Jackson, Gladys Knight, and others.  Tony Wilson contributed “We Call Him Peter Pan”  to the recording along with a new song, “A Dot for the King.”

This is a one-time performance to commemorate the 10th Anniversary of Michael Jackson’s death on June 25, 2009, while also celebrating African-American Music Appreciation Month.  Come hear Tony Wilson perform Jackson’s iconic songs and dance moves and talk about his relationship to the “King of Pop.”  Plus, during this all ages, interactive, family show, Wilson will be inviting children and adults onstage, if they would like to dance along with him.  It is not to be missed!

ABOUT TONY WILSON

Tony Wilson, endorsed as the YOUNG JAMES BROWN by the Godfather of Soul himself, is a Chicago native, and has entertainment in his blood. Since a teen, Tony has been performing and electrifying audiences with his own style, showmanship, charisma and especially, his dance moves.

In his 20’s, Tony began entering contests at the historic Apollo Theater in Harlem and other venues. Tony was actually crowned the Best Michael Jackson Entertainer, and asked to be on the Oprah Winfrey Show, and Joe Jackson, Michael Jackson’s father, took an interest in and liking to Tony.

From that landmark appearance on Oprah, Tony’s life changed. Soon, major entertainers such as James Brown himself were calling on him for movie roles, to be a stand-in, or to even back them with his band. James Brown saw Tony perform, and was so impressed with his unique style and showmanship, he asked Tony to be in Tony Scott’s Internet-only short film Beat the Devil. Additionally, at James Brown’s behest, Tony was personally selected by James Brown to portray the Young James Brown in Funk Blast.

But James Brown was not the only celebrity seeking Tony’s talent; in fact, Tony was not only making a reputation for himself as a versatile singer who could harmonize with the best and belt out anything from Nat King Cole to Barry Manilow; Tony was not only being recognized for his unbelievable moves and grooves—such as moon-walking on his head, doing flips into splits, or spinning 4-5 times around like Michael Jackson—Tony was being recognized by his own peers, celebrities and political leaders, for his musical direction composition and dedication to children.

Tony Wilson resides in Chicago, and is currently the front man for the original James Brown Band.

About Garchen Rinpoche

His Eminence Garchen Rinpoche is one of the foremost Buddhist masters and accomplished Tibetan Lamas alive in this world today. His compassion, love, wisdom, and spiritual accomplishments are legendary. He is one of the highest Lamas of the Drikung Kagyu Lineage of Tibetan Buddhism and is revered and respected by all the different lineages of Buddhism, and beloved in numerous countries across various continents all over the world. His disciples number in the tens of thousands and his dharma activities pervade everywhere. He is truly a living example of an authentic enlightened being and a great Bodhisattva. Famous throughout the world for his vast realization and great kindness, Rinpoche is truly a wish fulfilling gem, and one of the greatest authentic spiritual masters in the world.

Garchen Rinpoche was born in Eastern Tibet in 1936 and recognized at a very young age as the 8th incarnation of Garchen Rinpoche. From that time, he entered into monastic life and studied and practiced the dharma under many of the highest lamas of the Drikung lineage until the age of 19. Garchen Rinpoche then entered into a traditional three year retreat, which was interrupted after two and a half years due to the Cultural Revolution in China. At that time, after fighting in war to defend Tibet and preserve the Buddha Dharma, Garchen Rinpoche was captured and imprisoned. Garchen Rinpoche spent the next 20 years in prison and labor camps in Communist China. While in prison, Garchen Rinpoche met his root Guru, the great Nyingma master Khenpo Munsel, who gave him many essential teachings and pith instructions. Enduring unfathomable hardships, Rinpoche practiced secretly in prison until he attained great profound realization and merged his mind with his Guru.

Since his release from prison in 1979, Garchen Rinpoche has worked tirelessly to restore, preserve, and spread the teachings and blessings of the Buddha Dharma across Tibet, and later, throughout the entire world. In 1997, Garchen Rinpoche came to America for the first time. He has established his main center, the Garchen Buddhist Institute, in Arizona as well as numerous other centers throughout North America, Europe, Asia and South America. With his immeasurable compassion, vast realization and authentic blessings Rinpoche has inspired and guided thousands of Dharma students and practitioners to cultivate love, bodhichitta, and melt the ice block of self-grasping through dharma practice. He is an eminent master of the practices of Mahamudra and Dzogchen, Tummo, the Six Yogas of Naropa, the 37 Bodhisattva Practices, and many others.

SYNOPSIS…

LEFT! vs. RIGHT!          CONSERVATIVE! vs. LIBERAL!          RED! vs. BLUE!

Maybe only the Lord can bring us together in this hilarious and insightful entertainment, where the debate gets hot and the passion gets hotter. GOD – legendary actor, Ed Asner – is a wise, cantankerous and wildly funny deity who confronts two political pundits with a romantic history: Lawrence (a liberal lad) and Leslie (a conservative gal). He is not at all pleased with our politics or what we’ve done to his Creation. GOD HELP US! speaks to audiences of all political persuasions with one essential argument: that we have to listen to each other so that we can all live – and laugh – together.

Starring Ed Asner
Featuring Jerry Bisantz and Barbara Guertin
Written by Samuel Warren Joseph and Phil Proctor
Produced by Liza Asner
Directed by Mitch Levine

Edward Asner is widely acknowledged as the most honored performer in American television history (seven Emmy Awards, five Golden Globe Awards), an intrepid spokesman for progressive American ideals, and the bane of the right-wing noise machine that tends to be mainstream media in the USA today. Art and politics, despite routine denials up in the sky boxes, usually intersect. Bertolt Brecht (the German theatre practitioner) knew it and so too does Asner. This full-length documentary probes the ethnic Kansas City roots of Asner’s fascinating life, his early struggles, his inspirations and influences, his remarkable acting career, his brave political activism at personal cost and his unflagging energy to this day as a superb performer on screen and stage. Asner is frank, incisive and often puckish in reflections about himself as well as about friends, associates and enemies.

This 2-time former president of the Screen Actors Guild (1981-85) is as devoutly serious about the craft of acting as he is about sticking to ethical action in public life. Like his famous blunt and beloved screen counterpart Lou Grant, Asner’s personal creed in real life is to comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable while remaining the consummate professional. This feature documentary, based on extensive interviews at home and on the road, is an entertaining yet intimately informative portrait of one of the finest American actors of his (or any other) generation.  Interviewees include actor Michael Shannon, director Oliver Stone, actor Mike Farrell, theater legend David Shepherd, historian Paul Buhle, theater historian and radio host Janet Coleman, and London film critic Derek Malcolm

Todd Rundgren

“Considered by many to be the Ultimate Rock Cult Hero Todd Rundgren has maintained a legion of fans through four decades, rivaled only by The Grateful Dead. Todd’s searing guitar work reached a nationwide audience, in his role as lead guitarist for the blues-psychedelic band Nazz. He wrote and arranged almost all of the work that went into the three albums the group produced.

His first big solo success was in 1971 with We Gotta Get You a Woman and in 1973 from the double album Something/Anything? he scored big on the charts with I Saw the Light and a revision of a Nazz song, Hello, It’s Me.
Rundgren has scored huge as a music producer, most notably on Meat Loaf’s Bat Out of Hell opus. In the late 1970s and through the 1980s Todd formed the group Utopia, each member an accomplished musician and vocalist. He has also been called on by films and TV for his musical scores and sometimes tours with Ringo Starr as a member of his All-Star Band.”  Biography By: Buxx Banner

SYNOPSIS: A celebration of the transformative power of music, and the bonds that develop when artists collaborate and worlds collide, the film follows Satan & Adam, a blues duo and a fixture on Harlem’s sidewalks in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Director V. Scott Balcerek pulls together over two decades of documentary footage to chart the duo’s trajectory from busking in the streets of Harlem, where they were happened upon by U2 who were filming for their Rattle and Hum documentary, to bigger and bigger stages, depicting the challenges that both had to overcome to keep Satan & Adam and their friendship together.

Playing for years with artists including James Brown, Etta James and Marvin Gaye, Sterling Magee experienced the music industry’s exploitation of black musicians firsthand. So he walked away to play on the Harlem streets for “his people.” Reborn as Satan, he spread his gospel of freedom and became a New York City legend. When a white Jewish Ivy league scholar and musician named Adam Gussow asked if he could join him one day, both their lives took a powerful turn. Adam put aside the ivory tower life to play in the streets, and Sterling’s embrace of his younger apprentice forged a sound that thrust him back in the spotlight. But life on the road took its toll on the duo, and suddenly Sterling vanished without a trace. The separation would test both men’s courage, and their journey to find each other again a tale of tragedy, survival and miraculous rebirth.

  “It’s a funny thing…comedy” — Jackie Flynn

Jackie Flynn is an actor and comedian with prominent standup appearances, as well as extensive film credits to his name. Jackie has emerged as one of the funniest and most talked about comedians to come out of Boston, joining the ranks of Steven Wright, Denis Leary, Lenny Clarke and Jay Leno, and gracing the stages of the IMPROV, COMEDY STORE, FLAPPERS, LAUGH FACTORY, and other noteworthy venues. He has parlayed his success as a stand-up to firmly establish himself in the film and television arena, featuring in several episodes of the hit series “The King of Queens,” and recent guest appearances on “Veep” on HBO and the Disney Channel’s “Bizaardvark.” He is also recognized from his role along side the likes of Burt Reynolds, NFL Coach Jimmy Johnson and Jerome Bettis as one of the “Men Of The Square Table” in the hugely popular Miller Lite “Man Law” commercials. Jackie is currently seen in the series regular role of “Tony” in “Loudermilk” (DirectTV Audience Channel), which is Peter Farrelly’s directing foray into television.

He is also one of the proud winners of the prestigious San Francisco Comedy Competition, as well as a featured performer at the Montreal Just For Laughs Festival gala. He was chosen to perform at the U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, Colorado produced by HBO.

Early on in his career, Jackie was discovered on stage in Boston by the Farrelly brothers, who have since cast him in back to back roles in “King Pin”, “There’s Something About Mary”, “Me, Myself And Irene” “Shallow Hal” and “Stuck On You.”  Recently, Jackie has had prominent roles in “The Three Stooges,” playing opposite Kevin James in “Here Comes The Boom,” and 2017’s film “Special Unit.”

Jackie’s golf background, popularity from a national Phil Mickelson commercial, and relationships on the PGA and celebrity golf circuit, make him an often requested headlining comedian for affiliated and corporate event entertainment including Bay Hill in Orlando FL, Bel-Air Country Club in Los Angeles CA, The Hideaway Golf Club in Palm Springs, CA, Trump Doral in Miami FL. Morgan Stanley, Hertz, IBM, Intel and Yahoo to name a few.

Jackie is truly a “comic’s comic” whose refreshingly unique brand of sarcastic observational humor puts him in a class all his own, apart from the many derivative cookie cutter comics plying the airways today. Audiences young and old appreciate his wit and rapid-fire “take no prisoners” delivery.

Kevin Flynn has entertained audiences for years with his stand-up comedy performances, headlining at clubs and colleges around the world. His breakthrough came when he won the Boston Comedy Riot in 1988. He has since appeared in comedy specials on NBC, MTV and A&E; and his film and television credits include The Heartbreak Kid with Ben Stiller, Me, Myself and Irene with Jim Carrey, Osmosis Jones with Bill Murray and HBO’s Sex and the City. His one-man show, Around the Kitchen Table, won Best of the Fest at the Boston Comedy Festival and at HBO’s prestigious U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen.

Kevin is founder and executive director of the annual Nantucket Comedy Festival, which brings national headliner comics to Nantucket Island. Beloved by comedians and attendees alike since its 2008 inception, the event unites an intimate group of people who live to laugh.

ABOUT FRANK GAMBALE

Grammy winning guitar virtuoso, Frank Gambale, exploded on the L.A. scene in the early ‘80s. His meteoric rise to fame is a testament to his passion-powered playing – a style Rolling Stone magazine called “ferocious!”

Gambale is an inspired songwriter with more than 250 songs published on 20+ albums. His music touches on many styles from rock, funk and jazz to R&B and some Latin and Brazillian influences. He has a strong & long association with Chick Corea thru the Electrik Band and the most recent incarnation of Return to Forever.

As a legendary guitarist, Gambale is an undisputed genius who originated the “sweep picking” technique (a new way to play the instrument) and elevated it to a precise art form now standard in the guitar lexicon. The “Gambale Sweep Picking Technique” continues to inspire generations of musicians. Jazz, rock, metal and progressive artists alike are united in their awe of Frank as both an amazing technician and an unsurpassed musician.

About Krai Thong…

You will be treated to a night of elegant Thai cultural performances, proudly presented by performers from Thailand and New England!

Krai Thong is a folktale originated in Thailand from Phichit Province. It tells the story of Chalawan, a crocodile lord who abducts a daughter of a wealthy Phichit man, and Kraithong, a merchant from Nonthaburi who seeks to kill Chalawan. The story was adapted into a play, credited to King Rama II (r. 1809–1824), and has seen various modern adaptations.

Krai Thong is a real figure, however he has no magical power like in the story. He was from Nonthaburi and worked as a merchant and a crocodile hunter.

After the locals from Nonthaburi Province heard about Krai Thong’s heroism, they established a temple for his courageous act. The temple is called Wat Bang Krai Nai, located near the area of Krai Thong’s old village. The story also reflects how Thai people in old times had a strong relationship with animals. They believed that crocodiles and humans can have relationships and crocodiles do have feelings like humans.

REUSE Because You Can’t Recycle The Planet.
This film isn’t about our waste problem. It’s about solutions. And they are everywhere!

We live in a challenging time. Climate change and mass consumption is threatening our planet’s existence. Excessive extraction of natural resources has created immeasurable waste and pollution. This issue is complicated and imminent. While recognition and awareness is important, direct action is by far the most effective. But traditional recycling is not enough. The reuse mission offers a more sustainable solution that everyone can be a part of. REUSE Because You Can’t Recycle The Planet follows Reuse Pro Alex Eaves’ cross-country adventure to the 48 contiguous U.S. states. On his journey, he finds endless reuse solutions for our waste problem that are not only sustainable, but many of which are easy and fun And he learns just how reuse truly benefits people, planet, and wallet.

There will be a discussion afterwards with the filmmaker Alex Eaves, Box Truck Tiny House creator Derek Diedricksen, as well as representatives from the Town’s Zero Waste Committee and the Recycling Coordinator, available to talk about efforts the Town makes to encourage reuse.
Box Truck Tiny House tours are happening before the film showing: 4-7 PM at the Robbins Library Parking Lot, 700 Mass Ave., also free and open to the public.

The Beatles’ Abbey Road is a masterpiece filled with classic Beatles songs, such as Come Together, Something, and Here Comes the SunGeorge Martin told the Beatles to think “symphonically,” and they responded by creating the remarkable side two song suite.

Abbey Road was the last time that the Beatles recorded together at EMI Studios — soon-to-be-christened Abbey Road Studios after the album’s release. Despite the bittersweet atmosphere that surrounded the recording sessions, The Beatles’ outstanding songs and performances together with George Martin’s orchestrations produced an album that continues to be regarded as one of the best albums ever created.

“Imagine that the Aurora Borealis could sing: that’s Simrit’s voice. Timeless, Strong, and Ethereal as a whale’s song…”
LA YOGA

“For Simrit, singing is not a performance, it is a sacred worship of the Divine. Her voice, her music, and her teaching, reflect this devotion which seems to come from her so effortlessly. This devotion is a gift, a talent beyond any, that will lead thousands into the lightness of being and awareness that is so vital to humanity in this day and age.”  -SNATAM KAUR

“First of all, I’m such a fan of Simrit.  The first time I saw her live I thought – wow she’s kind of punk rock.  I don’t know why I thought that, but that’s the element that drew me to exploring her music.  Her sense of melody, her energy, and her musicality set her apart. Simrit, to me, is the voice of this new day and age.”  -BELINDA CARLISLE

FILM SYNOPSIS

Aging local standup comic, Steve Sweeney “The Character King”, gets an opportunity to do a national cable show out of Los Angeles. The only caveat is that Sweeney must drop the locally referenced material from his act, the biggest pieces being the portrayal of his colorful Boston “characters,” that have become a staple of his home field success. He makes the hard decision to stop doing the characters. But, to his dismay, the characters “come-to-life” and seek their revenge; they try to kill Sweeney.
