Pastures of Plenty
|
|
On September 20th at 8pm, Club Passim and Alastair Moock present
Pastures of
Plenty at the Regent Theatre, The Roots of American Music, with special guests Rachael Davis, Ronnie Earl, Rob Laurens, The
Resophonics,
Hanneke Cassel, Alastair Moock and more. Pastures of Plenty is a traveling roots
music
series started by Boston-based singer-songwriter Alastair Moock that
brings
together some of the region's best singer-songwriters and roots
musicians
to
jam on traditional American tunes. By giving young songwriters and
traditional players the unusual opportunity to share a stage and an
audience,
Pastures strives to bring tradition back into the fold of the
contemporary
folk music scene while urging traditional music "purists" to
acknowledge a
new generation of performers. The Boston Herald has called it "a
wonderful
series... that proves how well folk-popsters can mine the
inexhaustibly
valuable vein of American songs..." while The Boston Globe said "One
of
Boston's best and most adventurous songwriters has found an exciting
way
to
bring folksters together for some ensemble fun... [This is] one of
the
hippest hootenanies in town." Ticket prices and guest performers will
be
announced soon. Tickets are $15/ $18 at the door; 8PM. http://www.moock.com/pastures.htm |
