“Emotionally fearless”… “Has all the ingredients from comedy to suspense and a sensational plot”…. “The play was so emotionally powerful I felt a part of it”… --Frank West, Irish American News

This exceptional piece of Irish drama – set in rural Ireland in the 1970’s -- has received rave reviews in Ireland, England and the United States and has been hailed as one of the most powerful pieces of drama to come from the Emerald Isle for some time. The play is written by radio broadcaster Tommy Marren who is a well-known presenter on Midwest Radio based in County Mayo. The cast and crew have recently returned to Ireland after performing three sold-out shows in Nyack, New York in March.

Although the play is steeped in Irish comedy and hilarious Irish one-liners, it also has a serious undertone as the soured relationship between a father and son manifests itself in most unusual circumstances.  Audiences will be fascinated by the incredible plot that unfolds along with an exceptional ‘hooley’ scene that includes a breath-taking display of brush-dancing (an old Irish dance done with a sweeping brush!) by Brian Cunningham from Connemara in County Galway (accompanied by by a traditional musician) that will warm the hearts of the audience!

The plot evolves around the return home of Mickey McMahon (Tommy Marren) to visit his aging parents Jack McMahon (John Duggan) and his wife Kathleen (Eileen Slevin) after 13-years living in Manchester, England. Although the purpose of his visit is to tell them some good news--he is about to get married in Manchester--things take a dramatic turn when, sadly, his parents reveal a black family secret.

Soon, the arrival of the local gossip Molly Andy (Mary Mannion) unearths a dark story associated with the house being built on a fairy fort, and a legend that a Banshee has put a spell on the house itself isn’t without foundation

The storyline keeps the audience gripped and guessing until the last minute as a further twist develops about Mickey’s future leading to the unpredictable, dramatic finale.
