Hendrix scholar and Experience Hendrix’s catalog development director John McDermott, who produced the documentary, will be on hand to introduce the 7:30 and 9:30pm screenings.

American Landing: Jimi Hendrix Experience Live At Monterey is the definitive presentation of Jimi Hendrix’s unforgettable Monterey Pop Festival performance. 

This new documentary traces Jimi Hendrix’s remarkable transformation from obscurity through his initial success in Europe and culminating with his triumphant US ‘debut’ at the Monterey festival.  The film features previously unreleased Hendrix performance footage as well as new and previously unseen interviews with Experience band mates Mitch Mitchell and Noel Redding, manager Chas Chandler and Jimi himself. 

American Landing: Jimi Hendrix Experience Live At Monterey features all of the existing film footage from Jimi’s incendiary June 18, 1967 concert newly transferred from the original 16mm camera reversal original, re-edited and presented in its original performance sequence.  The audio soundtrack features a new 5.1 and 2.0 stereo soundtrack mixed by Eddie Kramer, Jimi’s original engineer.
