Arjun

2pm on Sept. 12

Story : Mahesh (Arjun) and Meenakshi (Keerthi Reddy) are twins, with the latter being the elder one born 10 minutes early. The siblings study in the same college in Hyderabad, where one of their colleagues Ajay (Raja) suggests Meenakshi to elope with him, though he is engaged to a girl who is the heiress of a 1001 crore property. Though, Arjun is initially enraged, he temper cools down on knowing that sister too is in love with him. He along with his sister, and parents leave to Madurai to meet Ajay’s parents Nayagar (Prakash Raj) and Andal (Saritha). Luckily for Mahesh, his lady love Roopa (Shriya) too is from Madurai, and comes back to her town after graduation. So his ‘prema katha’ doesn’t come to an end with him moving out of town. Ajay’s parents accept the marriage reluctantly, as the whole community comes to know about thier son’s love for Meenakshi. But deep down, they are cold blooded beings who want to eliminate the twins and get their son married to the billionaire’s daughter. Initially, Arjun is not aware that Ajay’s parents are behind his life, but later comes to know about it. Though he tries telling this to his sister, she is not willing to accept it. The rest of this good versus evil story is how Mahesh saves himself, and his sister from the clutches of these people

Peformances : The whole film heavily depends on Arjun’s character which was handled with élan by Mahesh. The fights well-suited his body language, and for fans who dint see much of Mahesh’s ‘roudra roopam’, you can catch him here swinging swords and chopping off heads. Though its been years since Keerti Reddy set foot in Tollywood, her looks haven’t detoriated. Her expressions and performance will win her praise. Shriya’s role is just limited to gazing at Mahesh, and shaking a leg with him. Prakash Raj and Saritha were competent as the evil couple. There are no comedy artistes in the film, except for a few laughs generated by Shriya’s dad Tanikella Bharani. Rajan P. Devan, Nazar play the villains who get merely killed by the hero, while Kalaibhavan Mani gets noticed.
