Right Turn's mission is to provide innovative programming, individual support, rehabilitation services and ongoing encouragement to New England artists and entertainers (and their families) who've been affected by alcoholism, addiction, and psychiatric issues. Hope, health, and creativity on the road to recovery…Take a RIGHT TURN!

THE BENEFIT

Right Turn is seeking to raise money to grow as a safe haven for creative people.  Our agency has experienced the need to expand services to artists and creative people receiving out-patient services at our Arlington based program.  We are an Evening Program Outpatient and Recovery Center with services 7 days a week to provide a continuum of services needed to assists people in early recovery.  We need your help raising money for operational cost!  The goal of this fundraiser is to secure annual overhead and program costs of $40k

Woody Giessmann, an addiction specialist and ex-drummer for The Del Fuegos, started Right Turn in March of 2003 to provide treatment to creative people.  Through his experience, as a creative person with a drug history and a counselor, he created a unique treatment approach incorporating creative expression into recovery models.  Right Turn brings creative people together into a safe haven where they can explore their art and preserve their creative gifts.  A continuum of tailored services can be accessed in a single setting.

“Over the years, I have lost many friends in the arts and entertainment industry to substance abuse.  Excess in the throes of success can be a lethal combination.  Maybe my friends and many more like them didn’t know that help was available.  Maybe help wasn’t available.  But now it is.  Right Turn offers hope and help on the road to recovery.  I believe in this agency’s mission.  I believe in the methodology.  And most of all, I believe in the clients we serve.”  -  Woody
