Known across the country for his award-winning family and Children’s shows, Roger will make his Regent Theatre debut at a special Sunday Evening concert at 7pm. His interactive and energetic live performances have earned him six straight National Association of Campus Activities Family & Children’s Entertainer of the Year nominations. “Ready To Fly”, his latest recording, has earned Roger Day a Parent’s Choice Award.

 

Roger Day - Biography

Roger Day, Parenting Magazine’s “parenting pick”, is a name synonymous with zany, infectious fun for children of all ages. Roger’s original, completely interactive, high-energy live family performances have earned him a large following wherever he performs, inspiring enthusiastic audience participation, even from a few unsuspecting adults!

Roger’s children’s CDs have earned him awards from Parents’ Choice, The National Association of Parenting Publications and Parenting Magazine’s “Parenting Pick,” and a top spot on children’s radio throughout the country. His newest CD “Ready to Fly” includes duet and harmony vocals by the Indigo Girls and Nanci Griffith. His first children’s CD, “Rock N’ Roll Rodeo,” is filled with favorites from his popular concerts including Mosquito Burrito and It’s A No-No To Kiss A Rhino.

Roger has earned six straight Family and Children’s Program of the Year nominations from the National Association of Campus Activities. He has performed for a wide range of venues from Parker Dam, California to Blue Hill, Maine. Roger’s commitment to children has carried him to homeless shelters and orphanages in other countries. For those performances, Roger was awarded the Harry Chapin Award for Contributions to Humanity.

A magna cum laude graduate of Washington & Lee University and student of Oxford University and the University of Bayreuth, Roger has a keen interest in promoting children’s literacy through quality songwriting and student and teacher workshops. Roger is available for performances, workshops, and residencies. He teaches workshops and lecture/demonstrations on the whole language process for writing.

Roger lives with his wife Jodie and three children Thomas, Marjory, and Jacob in Franklin, Tennessee.
