Get your giddy up for "GIRLS GONE COUNTRY"--a fun, tuneful evening of country/crossover music as Larissa Maestro, Christie Leigh, Liz Carlisle, Gabrielle Louise and their respective bands and guests show you how Boston does country. While Boston is not exactly known for country music--and knowing when and where to go hear it is generally tricky--there are still musicians who not only play it, but who can put to shame many of the better known mainstream country music artists.
To kick-off things, all four gals will come on stage to introduce themselves, talk a little bit about their music and the music scene in Boston , and play a song each in the round. Then Gabrielle will have her full band come on stage to play a full 45 min set, followed in turn by Liz, Christie, Larissa and their bands and guests. * Larissa Maestro will rock your world with either rock or country, but prefers the country route to your heart and ears backed by her Berklee-trained band.
* Christie Leigh, an East Coast gal fresh from a West Coast tour, goes pop with her country with a little bit of blues and a whole lot of rhythm thrown in.
* Liz Carlisle presents a tuneful mix of folk and country courtesy of the state of Montana and Harvard University inspiring the Boston Globe to call her "a little bit country;a little bit Ivy League."
* Gabrielle Louise is a Berklee-trained country girl in a city world backed by a worldly crew of musicians dishing out old-school country with a Celtic flavor.
