A Fundraiser to Support the Arlington Children's Theater

To kick off ACT's baseball season, come see Tom Hanks, Geena Davis, and Rosie O'Donnell in the classic baseball film, "A League of Their Own", Friday evening, July 14th at 7 PM at the Regent Theatre in Arlington. ACT is asking for a donation of $10 per ticket to see this great movie and to help support this great community theater organization. ACT will be performing their own brand of baseball with Damn Yankees at the Regent August 4th through the 12th. For more information, go to http://ACT.arlington.ma.us or call 781-721-2176.

During World War II, when much of the male population was in the trenches, the first all-women’s baseball league was formed. Dottie Hinson (Geena Davis) and Kit Keller (Lori Petty) are sisters recruited to keep the sport alive. Their teammates range from a former dance hall hostess to a home run slugger to a Jersey girl to a couple of farmer’s daughters.
