Songs From J.C. Superstar, Tommy, Queen,
Local Boston filmmakers and musicians Sal Clemente and Alan Ware don't know when to quit. They've spent the last three years arranging, producing and recording a brand new version of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's soundtrack to "Jesus Christ Superstar." As if that weren't enough, they've also been filming the entire process as part of a documentary called Looking For Jesus. Now, in conjunction with Arlington's Regent Theatre, they're presenting some of their JCS arrangements live for the very first time. "We'll be performing five songs from Superstar including 'Gethsemane,' 'What's the Buzz?' 'Superstar,' and Everything's Alright," says Sal Clemente, director of the film. "We'll also be doing some of the greatest rock theatre songs ever written—songs that are rarely performed live because of the difficulty in reproducing the vocals."
