The evening will begin with an introduction by a member of the Robert Johnson family, followed by an acoustic set of Johnson material performed by Rory Block. The second set begins with Block and the Straitaway Ministries Choir performing early Gospel songs a capella and backed by Block's acoustic guitar, with a transition to a contemporary sound when the Straitaway Ministries Choir rocks the stage with their powerful Holy Ghost Gospel. Altogether, over 30 performers will be coming up from Mississippi to help Rory Block celebrate her new Rykodisc recording, "The Lady and Mr. Johnson," to be released August 1, 2006.
