Meet the von Trapp children: Sofia (16), Melanie (14), Amanda (13), and
Justin (10). They are the great-grandchildren of Captain von Trapp,
father of the famous singing family whose story captivated the world in
the musical The Sound of Music. The children have inherited the family's
exceptional musical gift and love of singing. With the light joyfulness
of youth, they perform a variety of vocal music: classical, sacred
music, folk songs from various European and American traditions, and
some beloved pieces from The Sound of Music. Musicians and listeners of
all ages recognize them for their beautiful harmonic blend and pristine
tone. The children have performed across the country, and live on radio
and television, including appearances on ABC's Good Morning America, CBS
Sunday Morning, The Grand Ole Opry, and Fox News Network. The children
have also performed on festival bills with pianist George Winston and
folk trio Peter, Paul and Mary, among others. Their sold-out performance
at 2002's Bethlehem, PA Musikfest, one of the nation's largest
international music festivals, along with their largely sold out 2002
and 2003 Christmas tours resulted in a record number of singing
engagements in 2004.
