"THE COMPLETE WORKS OF WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE--ABRIDGED" Saturday, July 14 at 8pm and Sunday, July 15 at 2pm Tickets: $15 general admission (Includes $1.50 restoration fee)
left to right are Makeshift Theatre Company's Jonathan Overby, Larry Leggett and Andrew Rhodes. A high-speed roller-coaster type condensation of all of Shakespeare’s plays, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged), by Adam Long, Daniel Singer and Jess Winfield takes on all 37 plays in under two hours. Heroes, villains, kings, servants and damsels in distress, sometimes all at the same time, are portrayed by just three, very overworked, actors. A favorite of audiences and critics alike, this irreverent spin on one of the English language’s finest is wildly funny and deceptively intelligent. Truly, high theatre has never been this low. Makeshift company members Jonathon Overby, Larry Leggett and Andrew Rhodes take on Hamlet, Romeo & Juliet, Othello and some very ugly wigs in this hilarious romp. Come see the guys take on Billy’s best at breakneck speed! Makeshift Theatre opened its first season in 2005 under the name TRiBE for CHiLDREN, as a branch of the local improv and artist's community, The Tribe, with Robin Hood. With the highly popular performance of Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp in the summer of 2006, TRiBE for CHiLDREN officially became Makeshift Theatre Company and is now happy to be in its second season of tremendously successful Saturday morning children's shows. Makeshift will be starting its third season in the fall with three more exceptional productions of theatre for young audiences and another brand new main-stage production in the summer of 2008. Makeshift Theatre is dedicated to affordable, high-quality theatre that will entertain and engage audiences of all ages and excite a new generation of theatergoers.
