From the Riviera to the Regent Theatre'Sinatra' and 'Streisand' in concertJohn Black, jblack@bostonnow.com"Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Frank Sinatra and Ms. Barbra Streisand." As music fans of these two legends will tell you, those words were never actually spoken as an introduction to a concert with Sinatra and Streisand. The closest they ever got to performing together was recording a duet of "I've got a Crush on You" for Sinatra's Duets album. And even then they didn't sing in the same room at the same time. But that's all going to change this weekend when "Barbra & Frank - The Concert that Never Was" comes to The Regent Theatre in Arlington, by way of the Riviera Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. The show stars Sharon Owens as Barbra Streisand and Sebastian Anzaldo as Frank Sinatra. "People ask us all the time why do we do this, and the answer is simple: Nobody is going to line up to go see "Sharon and Sebastian - The Concert that Never Was,"" said Owens. "Let me tell you, though, you have to have some pretty good chops to pull something like this off. We're not just people made up to look like them who lip-sync to a record. We perform live." The show, she added, is a mix of music and comedy, complete with lots of snappy patter she imagined might have happened between the two legends if they ever met. "It's the oddest pairing of talent you can imagine. They love to needle each other," Anzaldo said of the characters he and Owens have created. "There's a lot of respect to what we do, too. Let's face it; they're probably the greatest voices of the century. We take that very seriously when it comes time to sing." "Barbra & Frank - The Concert That Never Was" at the Regent Theatre. June 15-17.
