Right Turn Celebrates the Life of John Belushi October 14th Fundraiser to Feature Judy Belushi-Pisano, Music from James Montgomery & More John Belushi left this earth well before his time as a result of a drug overdose. Arlington-based Right Turn is working to make sure other talented artists and entertainers do not become victims of drug and alcohol addictions and live a full life filled with creativity and song. On October 14th, Right Turn will host, a benefit for artists in recovery featuring Belushi's widow Judy Belushi-Pisano, a screening of The Blues Brothers, live music from The Blues Brothers Band and special musical appearances by James Montgomery, Rachael McCartney, Tim Pike, Susan Angeletti and others. The fundraising event will be held at the Regent Theatre in Arlington from 7 p.m. to midnight and tickets are $15 or $25 for preferred seating. Proceeds from the event will be used to help support and improve Right Turn's efforts to help New England artists and entertainers. The Right Turn program was created by Woody Giessmann, drummer for the rock band The Del Fuegos, after he lost several friends to drug and alcohol use. Belushi-Pisano, who will discuss addiction and her life with the comedic legend, supports Right Turn and believes in its mission. "Right Turn is a rehabilitation program which offers a unique and fresh, personal yet professional approach to obtaining and securing freedom from addiction," said Belushi-Pisano. "Artists, musicians and entertainers are at high risk in terms of drug addiction both by nature and by the circumstances of their professions. Right Turn is able to connect with artists in a creative and unique manner which speaks to their concerns. I believe this program is a godsend to the New England community."
