FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

February 25, 2005

The Audience is the Main Instrument at Billy Jonas Earth Day Family Concert at the Regent Theatre, April 22nd.

Billy Jonas is a singer/songwriter, guitarist, industrial re-percussionist, a one-man band whose primary instrument is the audience. He’ll be performing a family Earth Day concert at the Regent Theatre in Arlington, MA on Friday, April 22 nd. Show time is 7:00 p.m. The Regent Theatre is located at 7 Medford Street in Arlington.

In singalongs, bangalongs, whisperalongs and improvised songs, Billy leads his audience through interactive explosions of energy, punctuated by moments of lyrical calm.

A Billy Jonas concert is a turn-of-the 21 st century neotribal hootenanny in the grand folk tradition, where EVERYBODY is in the band. His shows feature crowd-pleasing, foot-stomping songs from CDs Billy Jonas Live and What Kind of Cat Are You?!, which won a Parents’ Choice Gold Award and an AFIM Indie award.

Billy’s new releases include the CD, Get Real, for adult/general audiences, as well as, a new music DVD for families appropriately titled Everybody’s in the Band which features guest artist Alison Krauss.  Billy is also making headlines this fall with his song “Old St. Helen,” about the resurgently eruptive volcano. Billy has won acclaim from the Washington Post, Boston Globe, Family Fun, Parenting magazine and a host of music critics. He is often on the road, performing and singing with crowds at festivals, theaters, clubs and schools around North America.

Alison Krauss says, “Billy Jonas’ talent and wit make him and his music irresistible. Whenever I see him perform, my face hurts from smiling.” And Peter Yarrow testifies, “Billy Jonas is one of the most original, moving and simultaneously hilarious performers I've ever seen.”
