Fledgling organization Blind Lemon Aid is hosting an All Ages musical fundraising concert on Sunday, January 30, 2005, 5:00-9:00p.m. At the Regent Theatre in Arlington, Massachusetts to benefit the programs and services at the Friends of Boston's Homeless (FOBH). Why Friends of Boston’s Homeless? Some startling statistics on Boston’s homeless population:
· Each night, over 6,200 adults in Boston have no place to call home.
· There are an estimated 22,000 homeless individuals in Massachusetts.
· The average age of a homeless adult is 24 years old and recent years have seen a dramatic increase of homeless young adults in their late teens and early twenties.
· Families with children are the fastest growing group of the homeless population. They make up approximately 40% of the homeless. There are over 2,000 homeless families in Boston.

“We’re looking to help change some of those statistics,” says Brian Templeton, founder of Blind Lemon Aid and co-founder of The Radio Kings. “Blind Lemon Aid hopes to raise $15,000 for FOBH with 100 percent of the event’s proceeds going directly to help the many programs and serviced provided by the nonprofit organization. Assistance programs like affordable housing, worker training, domestic violence prevention and literacy education will all make a substantial difference in the lives of our area’s most vulnerable population. By simply reaching out and offering a guiding hand, we can make a positive impact,” continues Templeton.

Winner of Boston's Battle of the Blues Bands in 1991, The Radio Kings will be reunited after nearly five years, this time accompanied by a full roster of background singers, keyboards and horn section. “This will surely be a night to remember with something for everyone, said Templeton. “The audience will hear a mix of original Radio Kings tunes and classic blues, as well as hearing a special opening performance by several national recording artists.” The evening will begin with a theatre version of Chick Singer Night featuring Suhann, Vox and Matthews backed by their respective bands.

“Blind Lemon Aid began as a way to bring musicians, fans and the community together for a good cause,” continues Templeton. “All performers donate their time and support the mission of Blind Lemon Aid to strengthen our community’s future by helping people, promoting compassion and happiness, first and foremost for the homeless and hungry, but ultimately for all people.”
