³CHICK SINGERS² HELPING TO KEEP THE ARTS ALIVE
IN OUR SCHOOLS

Arlington native and professional Singer-Songwriter Jennifer Truesdale and
Vykki Vox bring Chick Singer Night to the Regent Theater to raise money for
the Music and Arts programs in Arlington¹s public schools.

Sponsored by Berklee College of Music and Jeannie Deva Voice Studios, among
others, this 1st Anniversary event will be held at the Regent Theatre, on
Friday, JUNE 10th, at 7:00 PM. The show will feature Boston's best vocalists
and songwriters, Jennifer Matthews, Parul Vakani of Red Velvet Slide and
Gary Backstrom of Jiggle (CSN's Are You Man Enough feature). Hosted by
Jennifer Truesdale and Vykki Vox the evening will also feature young talent
from the Arlington schools. Proceeds from the show will go directly to the
Fine Arts programs in the schools.

Founded with the purpose of assisting community arts and other charitable
causes around the country, Chick Singer Night is a national non-profit
organization with chapters in Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Nashville, Las
Vegas, Boston and many other major cities. Norah Jones, Sheryl Crow, Stevie
Nicks, Megan Mullally, Paul Shaffer and MTV have all been supportive of CSN
and many are continuing to take notice of this growing organization.

Research has shown that kids who are involved in music score better on the
SATs and that musical study develops critical thinking and self discipline
skills, improves a child's early cognitive development, basic math and
reading abilities, self-esteem and school attendance. Yet unfortunately,
music and arts programs are often the first to feel the effect of budget
cuts.

A graduate of the Arlington public school system, Jennifer Truesdale was
fortunate to experience an education that was rich in music and the arts.
She is now a singer, songwriter, recording artist and music educator. She
has written, produced and performed on recordings for major network
television shows including: All My Children, Soul Food, Melrose Place,
Sunset Beach, One Life to Live and The Young and the Restless. Vykki Vox is
also a music educator in the Boston area and is a dynamic singer-songwriter
who has shared the stage with Lynyrd Skynyrd, Indigo Girls, Jonny Lang and
Susan Tedeschi among others. Both women, and all those performing, know the
importance of keeping the inspiration alive for future generations of
artists.

No matter where you stand on the subject of the Prop. 2 1/2 Over-ride, the
fact is clear that budget cuts in our schools often mean cuts in the arts.
For about what it would cost to take your family out to a nice restaurant
you can help! (and enjoy a great night out at the same time). Tax-deductible
reserved seats are $20 ($15 for kids under 12) and $40 VIP ($20 VIP for kids
under 12) --- VIP tickets include preferred seating, buffet dinner and meet
& greet with the performers between 6-7pm. The theatre is MBTA and
wheelchair accessible with plenty of free parking across the street. For
tickets and more information call (781) 646-4TIX (4849) or go to
