FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Jan. 28, 2004 CONTACT: John Kusiak, 781-646-1966 Leland Stein, 781-643-4488 Russian Folk Tale For Children With Wind Quintet And Narrator To Premiere March 27 at Regent Theatre “The Fool of the World and the Flying Ship,” a Russian folk tale set to music, will have its world premiere on Saturday, March 27 at 10:30 a.m. at the Regent Theater in Arlington. This performance is part of the theater’s Family Fun Saturdays Series.
Arlington composer John Kusiak was commissioned to write music to accompany this fanciful Russian folk tale about a youthful peasant who wins the hand of a beautiful princess with help from his magical friends and a fantastic flying ship. It will be performed by the Boston-based Solar Winds quintet and narrated by Victor Cockburn.
The Regent Theatre is located at 7 Medford Street (off Mass. Ave.) in Arlington. The theatre is wheelchair and MBTA accessible with free parking across the street. Admission is $7 for adults, $5 for children 12 and under and seniors 65 and over. For tickets and information, call 781-646-4849
