Theatre Company announces Into the Woods, with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by James Lapine. Into the Woods opens on Thursday, July 26th, 2007 at 8:00pm and plays through July 28th, 2007 at the Regent Theatre in Arlington, MA. The F.U.D.G.E. Theatre Company, Inc. provides quality, affordable theatre productions to the people in the greater Boston area, cultivating an appreciation for and understanding of the arts, and providing a learning opportunity for those interested in a genuine theatre experience. Tina Cersosimo (Production Stage Manager) Tina has loved the stage since she started dance lessons at age 5, but it wasn't until college where she discovered the world of theatre. Tina joined F.U.D.G.E. as the Artistic Consultant of A New Brain in 2003, and has been serving as Secretary of the Executive Board since its creation in 2005. Favorite on-stage moments include A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum at Stonehill College, and playing "Cassie" in F.U.D.G.E.'s 2005 production of Rumors. Favorite off-stage moments include co-producing Urinetown: The Musical and co-stage managing I Sing! Tina graduated from Stonehill College in May 2005 with a BA in history, and recently switched from teaching 6th grade Geography in Saugus to 7th grade World Civilization. Joe DeMita (Director) Joe DeMita is one of the founders of The F.U.D.G.E. Theatre Company, Inc. He graduated from Stonehill College in May of 2005 with a degree in Psychology. Directing credits include Jake’s Women and Playhouse Creatures (Stonehill Theatre Company), Company (Winthrop Playmakers), and the F.U.D.G.E. productions of Once On This Island, Louder I Can’t Hear You!, ‘Dentity Crisis, Working, Rumors, Urinetown: The Musical, and, most recently, Dedication or The Stuff of Dreams. Joe has also served as the directing intern to Rob Ruggiero at TheatreWorks Hartford on productions of The Exonerated (Featuring TV Star Kim Fields) and the world premiere musical Ella: Off the Record, as well as the assistant director to Boston director Adam Zahler on the Lyric Stage’s production of Talley’s Folly. Joe was recently hired as an Associate Director for Chamber Theatre Productions, a professional company that brings live stage adaptations of famous short stories to students across the country. He also works part-time for the Kidstock! Educational Theatre Center in Winchester, where he teaches music and drama to children. Steve Dyer (Rapunzel’s Prince) Steve’s stage debut came as the male lead (Father Bunny) in the E.H. Parkman Elementary production of "The Bunny Hop," but was most recently seen as Joe, the lead role in Schoolhouse Rock Live! Steve has spent his time off exploring other genres of performance: he was a ten time soloist in his high school choir, played trumpet for the Springfield Youth Symphony Orchestra, and is an original member and artistic director of the Tufts University sketch comedy troupe. Steve is currently a rising senior at Tufts, where he is majoring in Biology and Spanish. Kyle Hemingway (Narrator/Mysterious Man) Kyle is delighted to be revisiting Into the Woods after playing the role of the Baker. His favorite credits include Jesus of Nazareth (Jesus Christ Superstar), Nicky (I Sing! Boston Area Premiere), Pinocchio (Pinocchio: A Musical Fantasy), and Linus (You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown). Additionally, he was the set dresser for F.U.D.G.E.’s spring production of The House of Blue Leaves. Kyle is an Interactive Media major at Emerson College, and minors in Art History. He is the lead designer and co-owner of Too Fabulous For Words, a graphic and website development company operating out of Boston, MA; the fabulous people responsible for the F.U.D.G.E. Theatre Company website and publicity materials. Jim Petty (Scenic Designer) Since making his theatrical debut in high school with the role of Jed Clampett in The Beverly Hillbillies Jim has continued his devotion to theatre by graduating with a Theatre Major from Stonehill College in '05, and earning his M.A. in Theatre Education from Emerson College in '07. His senior year at Stonehill he recieved the Stonehill College Student Life Award for Excellence in Theatre Arts. Two of favorite roles include Pseudolus in A Funny Thing... Forum with the Stonehill Theatre Company (STC) and Lou in Dedication, or the Stuff of Dreams with F.U.D.G.E.. He has traveled to the American College Theatre Festival with STC twice: Freshman year as Douglas Spaulding in Dandilion Wine, and senior year as the Greek god Dionysus in A Mouthful of Birds, a role that earned him an Irene Ryan Scholarship nomination. Backstage he enjoys designing and building sets for Boston theatre companies along with serving as the resident designer for F.U.D.G.E. Shannon Rosa (Cinderella’s Mother/Granny/Giantress) Since her stage debut as a munchkin in The Wizard of Oz, Shannon's heart has always belonged to the theatre. She is thrilled to reclaim her title of "Director of Communications" after a brief sabbatical to Emerson College to finish her graduate degree (you may see her thesis project, a new musical, on a F.U.D.G.E. stage in the future). Shannon works as the Administrative Assistant to the Dean of the Arts at Suffolk Univeristy where she will soon be entering a PHD program. Shannon fondly recalls her favorite roles throughout her 25 years from "Joseph" in a gender-bent production of Joseph…Dream Coat, to "Nettie Fowler" in Carousel, and to college where she embodied "Domina" in A Funny Thing…Forum and Susannah Fenwick in An Experiment With an Air Pump. Her crowning F.U.D.G.E. Theatre Co. moments were playing "Mama Euralie" in Once on This Island and Annabelle Willard in Dedication, Or The Stuff of Dreams. Kacee Staiti (Little Red Ridinghood) Kacee has been a fan of the theater since first seeing her big brother star as "Willy Wonka" in his fifth grade production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - some twenty years ago. A graduate from Stonehill College, Kacee was an active member of the Stonehill Theatre Company, and has worked on nine productions with F.U.D.G.E. since first performing in A New Brain in 2003. She now works as Executive Director and Assistant Repertory Acting teacher for the Todd G. Patkin Operatunity Performing Arts Center. Some of Kacee's favorite acting credits include: "Bananas Shaugnessy," in The House of Blue Leaves; "Little Sally" in Urinetown: the Musical; "Chris Gorman," in Neil Simon's Rumors; and "Protean," in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.
