Tel: 781 646-4849 - Bruce Katz and David Maxwell, two of the most accomplished and celebrated keyboard players in blues will perform together for the first time on Sept. 17 at the Regent Theatre in Arlington, MA. - Each group will perform its own set, followed by the two bandleaders playing together in a 2 piano boogie-woogie blow-out set, with members of both bands backing them up. Besides leading their own bands, they have toured and recorded with a virtual “Who’s Who” of blues legends, including Ronnie Earl, James Cotton, Jimmy Witherspoon, Freddy King, Hubert Sumlin, Duke Robillard, among many others. He will play Hammond as well as piano on the tour. The members of the Bruce Katz Band have played with many of the leading names in blues. Guitarist Mike Williams has his own CD, “Late Night Walk” and has been a longtime member of the James Cotton Band, as well as performances and recordings with Darrell Nulisch, Michelle Willson, and others. Bass player Rod Carey and drummer Ralph Rosen have played alongside Ronnie Earl, Robert Jr. Lockwood, Hubert Sumlin and many other leading names in blues After the Boston area appearance, the Bruce Katz Band tours the East Coast and Mid-West throughout Sept. and October.
