BOSTON WRITER/DIRECTOR DEBUTS IN FEATURE FILM “OVERSERVED”

ALL-BOSTON CAST AND CREW OF EDGY NEW COMEDY HOST GALA WORLD PREMIERE EVENT AT THE REGENT THEATRE IN ARLINGTON WITH AN AFTER-PARTY AT THE PARADISE LOUNGE IN BOSTON

February 23, 2004, Boston, MA - Boston will be served an exclusive sneak peek at award-winning writer/director Joseph Gatto’s feature film “Overserved” before it hits the West Coast. Gatto, of Liquid Lunch Productions in Arlington, wants to celebrate with the city that inspired the film, shot on location at the Samuel Adams Brewery in Jamaica Plain, Redbones in Somerville’s Davis Square, and the Boston Common softball fields.

The world premiere will be a two-night gala event on April 5th and 6th, 2004. The historic Regent Theatre in Arlington will roll out the red carpet and its 500-seat space. Immediately following the screening, the audience will adjourn to the Paradise Lounge on Commonwealth Avenue in Boston for the star-studded after-party event. Soundtrack band Not Your Average White Boys of Worcester will play three sets and comedians Lamont Price and Scott Carney are also scheduled to appear. Comedian Todd Gorell will host.

"Overserved"—a daring comedy starring an ensemble cast with actors Joseph Gatto, Peter Darrigo, Rob Savage, Amy Shea, Chrissy Tulloch, Julie Trombour, and Hilary Barraford and comedians Lamont Price, Scott Carney, Paul Shea, and Rich Gustus—is a comic showdown between the bar staff at Boston watering hole “House of Booze” and the barflies they serve. Corporate suits threaten to seize the property and challenge them to a softball game for the deed to the bar.

On the festival circuit, “Overserved” has been named an official selection at the San Diego Film Festival and the Long Beach Comedy Film Festival. It took home top honors at Houston’s Laugh Is Hope Comedy Film Festival for Best Feature, as well as Best Screenplay, Best Director, Best Supporting Actor (Peter Darrigo) and Best Supporting Actress (Amy Shea).

Corporate sponsors include the Boston Beer Company (Samuel Adams), Jägermeister and Grey Goose Vodka. John Rule of Rule Broadcast Systems is executive producing. Gatto is producing, along with David Lewis of Maven Productions in Cambridge (Everyone’s Got One). Boston cinematographer Tony Flanagan is Director of Photography. Emmy winner Christo Tsiaras, also of Boston, is film editor. Not Your Average White Boys contributed an original song, “House of Booze,” to the soundtrack. Other local musicians appearing on the soundtrack include the Adam Ezra Group and Missing Joe.
