“RHYTHM AT THE REGENT” TO FEATURE VIRTUOSO TAP DANCERS & VARIETY ARTISTS FOR THREE SHOWS ONLY OCTOBER 27 & 28, 2006 AT ARLINGTON’S REGENT THEATRE
Weekend’s Performers Will Also Teach Professional Workshops At Regent October 29

Dance Inn Productions, under the direction of impresario Thelma Goldberg, will team up with tap dance artist Joshua Hilberman to present the second edition of Rhythm at the Regent—three extraordinary performances featuring tap dance, tray spinning, juggling, roller skating, ukulele-strumming, swinging jazz, and more on Friday, October 27 at 8pm and Saturday, October 28 at 2pm and 8pm, at Arlington’s Regent Theatre. Reserved seats are $22.50 and $29.50 with group rates available.

Rhythm at the Regent will showcase world-class dancers and variety artists Nate “the Skate” Cooper, bouncing up and down on a pogo stick while juggling knives and spinning a plate on his head; sensational German vaudeville act Tap and Tray, Klaus Bleis and Kurt Albert, who spin huge silver trays while tap dancing at blazing tempos; local whiz Josh Hilberman’s absurd Ukulele One Man Band, and the cheesy, low-impact acrobatics of his Three Wing Circus; the eccentric and hilarious shenanigans of Bob E. Thomas; and a sparkling new piece from the expert tap stylist, Thelma Goldberg. Under Goldberg’s direction, the Legacy Dancers of the Dance Inn—New England’s only tap repertory company—will perform a new work for taps and plastic buckets by young lion, Kelly Kaleta, as well as a classic from America’s greatest tap choreographer, Brenda Bufalino. More information on the performers can be found by visiting  www.Tap-and-Tray.de, www.Hilbermania.com, and www.BobEThomas.com.

For musical accompaniment, Paul Arslanian—who has performed with every tap dancer of note over the past 30 years, and whom received this year’s Tapestry Award for lifetime contributions to the art—will lead a swinging jazz trio on piano, joined by Joe Fonda on bass, and the noted Berklee musician and guru, Professor Ron Savage, on drums.

To complement the shows, Rhythm at the Regent’s performers will hold workshops at the Regent on Sunday, October 29.  For workshop information, visit www.thedanceinn.com.

Rhythm at the Regent will be presented on Friday, October 27 at 8pm and Saturday, October 28 at 2pm and 8pm, at the historic Regent Theatre, 7 Medford Street (off Mass. Ave.) in Arlington Center. Reserved seats are $22.50 and $29.50 with group rates available.
