Boston-area Musicians Bring Epic Rock to Life in
A Night at the Rock Opera

26 performers join together for 8 performances March 9-19, 2006 at the Regent Theatre in Arlington

Boston, MA – February 1, 2006. --  An all-star ensemble of 18 singers and 8 musicians will join together on one stage to perform A Night at the Rock Opera - the music of the Beatles, The Who, David Bowie, and Queen, selections from Jesus Christ Superstar, and music from Will We Rock You? an all-original mini-opera.  Presented by the UltraSonic Rock Orchestra, this cast of emerging and established Boston rockers will bring these masterpieces of epic rock to life in the intimate setting of the Regent Theatre in Arlington, MA for eight spectacular performances on March 9 -12 and March 16 -19, 2006.  Tickets for A Night at the Rock Opera are available by phone at 781-646-4TIX (4849), online at www.regenttheatre.com or at the Regent Theatre box office.

Founded by Boston musicians and filmmakers Sal Clemente and Alan Ware, UltraSonic Productions originally presented A Night at the Rock Opera in 2004 to a sold-out audience at the Regent Theatre.   The performance was filmed for a documentary on the making of "Jesus Christ Superstar--A 21st Century Tribute To The Brown Album," a re-imagining of the classic Andrew Lloyd Webber-Tim Rice rock opera.

Based on the mini-opera, the new film, "Will We Rock You?" details the trials and tribulations of Ware, Clemente and their intrepid band of singers, musicians and friends as they produce their interpretation of Jesus Christ Superstar.  Facing Andrew Lloyd Webber's reluctance to allow their versions of the songs from Superstar to be heard in the film, Ware and Clemente write their own "mini-rock-opera" in which they lampoon themselves and Webber.  This original music will be filmed during performances at the Regent Theatre providing the visual climax to the documentary film.

With theatrical lighting, sensational sound and an all-star cast of Boston area musicians including James Richard, Peter Montgomery, Rod Eymael, Chantal Ambrose, Fatima Elmi and Tony Savarino, A Night at the Rock Opera is guaranteed to rock fans from ages 8 to 80!

A Night at the Rock Opera kick’s off the celebration of the Regent Theatre’s 90th Anniversary. Originally opened in April 1916, the historic Regent Theatre and its performance stage rivaled any Boston venue at the time.   "Arlington's Show Place of Entertainment,"--an original E.M. Loews vaudeville house --is located minutes from Boston and Cambridge at 7 Medford Street in Arlington Center.  The theatre is MBTA and wheelchair accessible with free parking nights and weekends.

A Night at the Rock Opera plays March 9th-12th and March 16th to 19th at the Regent Theatre in Arlington, MA.
