Boston Stop On Silver Jubilee Tour Co-Presented By Johnny D's and The
Regent Theatre
A Great Big Western Howdy from the kings of the trail drive as they travel
around the country celebrating their Silver Anniversary, as always
playing the great songs from the golden age of cowboy music in their
tuneful and hilariously entertaining shows. Of late, Ranger Doug, Too
Slim, Woody Paul, and recently added Joey the Cowpolka King have received
a lot of well deserved attention as a result of their musical participation
in Disney’s TOY STORY movies, including a performance after the conclusion
of TOY STORY 2. Now, they find themselves signed to Disney Records,
and going stronger than ever after 25 years! They’ll be joined on this
date by the incendiary trio from Austin, Texas, Hot Club Of Cowtown,
that successfully combines the musical stylings of Bob Wills with that
of gypsy guitarist Django Reinhardt in a delightfully swinging brew
that is utterly unique and at the same time familiar. The two bands
together on the same bill make up a special night tying together the
past and the future of western swing and cowboy music that is sure
to be one of the concert highlights of the New Year.
Johnny D’s, located in Somerville’s Davis Square—winner of The Blues
Foundation’s coveted “Keeping the Blues Alive” award—is a Boston roots-music
institution, owned and operated by the DeLellis family for over 30
years.
The historic Regent Theatre, Arlington’s Show Place of Entertainment
since 1916, is currently presenting its second full season of performances
under new ownership. Located at 7 Medford St. (just off Mass. Ave.)
in Arlington Center, a few short miles from Cambridge and Boston, the
theatre is wheelchair accessible with plenty of free parking across
the street. Reserved seats for the Saturday, February 8, 7:00pm Riders
in the Sky Silver Jubilee Concert are $30 and $22 for adults / $15
for children 12 and under. For further information call (781) 646-4TIX
